As part of the organizational development in KLD, Employees’ Development Activities (EDA) was held on January 13-15, 2025 at the Northpine Land Inc. Hall, Upper Ground, College Building 2, Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas, organized by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Mission and External Affairs.
The topics considered in this EDA were the evaluation results from the previous Faculty Development Activities (FDA), held August 5-9, 2024. Experts from top universities in the region and the country were invited as resource speakers.
Day 1: Internationalization and Lifelong Learning
The activity kicks off with a morning session on “Internationalization Initiatives and its Impacts on World University Rankings” by Dr. Engelbert C. Pasag, Vice President for Internationalization at Panpacific University. This session explores how global engagement can enhance an institution’s standing and educational quality.
The afternoon session featured Dr. Rufo Gil Z. Albor from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, discussing “Understanding Micro credentials for Lifelong Learning.” This topic is particularly relevant as education systems adapt to the changing needs of learners and the job market.
Day 2: Well-being and Communication in Education
Day two begins with Dr. Monica H. Walet, a registered psychologist, addressing the crucial topic of “Maintaining a Balanced Well-being.” This session acknowledges the importance of mental health in the educational sector.
In the afternoon, Dr. Angela Labador from De La Salle University led a session on “Enhancing Communication Skills for a Better Work Relationship,” emphasizing the importance of effective communication in educational settings.
Day 3: Sustainable Development and Quality Management
The final day featured Dr. Arlyne Marasigan from Philippine Normal University, discussing “Integrating Sustainable Development Goals into Higher Education Curricula.” This session aligns with global efforts to incorporate sustainability into education.
The assembly concludes with Dr. Josefina R. Rint’s presentation on “Securing ISO Certification and Quality Management for Accreditation and Institutional Rankings,” providing insights into maintaining high standards in educational institutions.
