The collegiate sports scene was electrified as the Strike for Glory: The Bacoor Amateur Boxing Challenge by Power Fist became the stage for a spectacular showing from the KLD Sports Program. Held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, following the official weigh-in on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The KLD boxing team demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, collectively securing an impressive tally of seven gold medals and two Draw results across the various weight categories contested in the competition. This outstanding performance brings honor and distinction to the institution.
The college proudly celebrates the triumphant efforts of its student-boxers who clinched gold medals in their respective categories. Lito L. Labiano Jr. from BS Information System (BSIS 209) and Brent John A. Gaspar from BS Civil Engineering (BSCE 206) both secured the highest honors. They were joined by BraveHeart Lance L. Escueta of BS Social Work (BSSW 102), and the two Binala brothers, Ysrael Yebra Binala and John Matthew Yebra Binala, both from BS Psychology (PSY 108), who also earned Gold. Completing the impressive gold medal haul were GL B. Dioso (BSIS 105) and James R. Mercado (BSIS 407). Furthermore, two Monarchs demonstrated competitive tenacity to earn Draw results: Jayson Kidd C. Jaguio from BS Psychology (PSY 314) and Kurt Daniel Sabanal, showcasing their relentless spirit in the ring. These Monarchs have truly struck for glory, successfully cementing KLD’s place in amateur boxing.
