The KLD-Office of the Vice President for Research, Mission and External Affairs (OVPRMEA) conducted a benchmarking activity with the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) on April 1, 2024.
The KLD delegation was composed of directors and heads of the different RMEA centers headed by Dr. Ernesto L. Bastida, Vice President.
Present in the activity were Dir. Cecille Raquel C. Alvaran, Director for Center for Knowledge Management; Dr. Arianne Grace M. Revilla, Director for Elpidio F. Barzaga, Jr. Research Centers for Sustainable Governance, Jerbert M. Abargos, Head of Internationalization and Global Relations Unit; Jet Maritime S. Geronimo, Head of Ethics Review Board and concurrent Head of Gender and Development; Rona Liezl C. Hernandez, Head of Faculty Research Unit; Maria Beatriz M. Malicdem, Head of Industry Engagements and Partnerships Unit; Jhonies G. Saysi, Head of Publications Unit; Lodelio D. Millo, Head of Data Protection Unit; Asst. Prof. Maria Archie A. Cabig, Head of Center for Dasmariñas Culture, Heritage, and Tourism; Lynne Orby G. Bayot, Head of Center for Public Policy and Social Affairs; Justine Joy N. Sabanal, Head of Center for Health Security and Population Studies; Cesar D. Galingana, Head of Center for Smart Engineering, Emerging Technologies and Innovations; Dr. Maria Lyn S. In addition, the PUP officials who personally welcomed the KLD delegates were Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, Vice President for Research, Extension and Development, together with the directors and chiefs of the university’s research sector: Dr. Angelina E. Borican, Assistant to the Vice President for Research, Extension and Development; Dr. Jackie D. Urrutia, Director for Research Management Office; Dr. Rolan J. Malvar, Director for Extension Management Office; Dr. Jose Reuben Alagaran II, Director for Publications Office; Dr. Armin S. Coronado, Director for Research Institute for Science and Technology Research; Orlando D. Tubola, Director for Research Institute for Strategic Foresight and Innovation; Dr. Nicolas T. Mallari, Director for Research Institute for Human and Social Development; Jerome P. Permejo, Chief for Center for Gender Training and Advocacy; and Lorraine Charmayne S. The benchmarking activity fosters possible collaborations between the two HEIs toward research excellence. Through this visit, the KLD delegates were able to gain knowledge and discover best practices in research production, presentation, publication, and patent.
