Lima’t Laya: KLD’s 5th Foundation Week Celebration

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas successfully celebrated its “Lima’t Laya,” the  5th Founding Anniversary with a week-long celebration which spanned five activity-packed days from September 29 to October 3, 2025. The entire KLD community was enthusiastically enjoined to participate, showing the institution’s core mission of Building the foundation for the Dasmarineños. The celebration officially kicked off on September 29, with a grand Parade and Opening Ceremony, which gathered participants across the city in the City of Dasmariñas Oval. The day concluded with the highly anticipated Pre-Pageant for the Mr. and Ms. KLD 2025 and Reina Kolehiyala 2025 competitions. The middle of the week was packed with events showcasing both intellectual prowess and artistic talent. September 30, was dedicated to oratory and performance, featuring the Intercollegiate Debate held at the Manny B. Villar Jr. Hall, and the Regals Got Talent competition, which included an Open Category, a Dance Battle, and a Battle of the Bands. On October 1, the physical and mental stamina of the KLD community was tested during the KLD Cup Competition, which separated events for both employees and students. Employees participated in team-building games like The Trust Walk and The KLD Puzzle Challenge , while students competed in a Quiz Bee, Spoken Poetry, and various visual contests, including Traditional Art Making and Mobile Photography. The climax of the week took place on October 2, with the crowning of Mr. and Ms. KLD 2025 and Reina Kolehiyala 2025 at the City of Dasmariñas Arena , followed by a lively After Party themed “Dress To Impress”.

The five-day observance concluded on Friday, October 3, with a community-focused Gift Giving event held in Brgy. Paliparan 3, City of Dasmariñas, reinforcing the college’s dedication to its external community. That evening, the institution capped off its anniversary celebration with a grand Gala Night themed “Retro” for the employees and administrators. The successful execution of the Foundation Week was coordinated by Rudy Bhonne R. De Lara, Director for the Center for Mission, Linkages and External Relations and the event’s Chairperson.

Beyond the competitions and the elegance, the “Lima’t Laya” event served as a powerful declaration of the institution’s collective strength, unity, and unwavering dedication to its students. With five successful years now logged, KLD looks ahead to the future, driven by the cooperation and commitment of its community , as it persists in the mission of Building the foundation for the Dasmarineños.
