KLD charts Future with “Vision to Action” Strategic Planning and Onboarding Program

KLD recently had its 2025 Strategic Planning and Administrators’ Onboarding Program, with the theme “Vision to Action: Leading Effectively with Purpose, Beginning with the End in Mind.” Held on July 8-9, 2025, at the Manny B. Villar, Jr. Hall. This two-day initiative underscores KLD’s commitment to achieving organizational excellence through deliberate action and foresight.

This initiative focuses on two key elements for lasting success: strategic planning and a thorough onboarding process for its administrators. Strategic planning at KLD isn’t just about setting goals, it’s a way of thinking that helps the institution imagine its future, evaluate where it stands now, and create a clear path forward. The strategic plan will be the foundation for all decisions KLD makes. Equally important is smoothly bringing administrators into the organization. These individuals are crucial for turning KLD’s strategic vision into real results. A well-designed onboarding program gives them the tools, context, and support they need to succeed from day one. By immersing them in KLD’s practices, values, and how things operate, the program helps them contribute effectively and meaningfully.

The two-day program was filled with substantive sessions aimed at bringing these ideas to life. The first day’s activities included a presentation by KLD President Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias on “The KLD Road Map,” providing an institutional overview to get the administrators onboard. The afternoon was dedicated to “Accomplishment Reports,” where administrators presented on their departments’ achievements and progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators. These reports used data to show a clear picture of accomplishments and help with future planning. On the second day, participants engaged in hands-on workshops. These sessions focused on reviewing operational guidelines and aligning individual and departmental goals with the college’s broader strategic roadmap and SDGs. The program culminated with administrators presenting their action plans and commitments, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Regielene S. Gonzales, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

This program demonstrates KLD’s approach to governance and development. By establishing a solid strategic foundation and ensuring its leaders are well-equipped to execute it, the institution is positioning itself for a new phase of collaborative work and shared success.
