Catering on the theme “Reaching Minds and Touching Hearts: A Beginning of Student Midwives Community Engagement into the World of Midwifery,” the Institute of Midwifery (IOM) celebrated its first ever Midwifery Week on February 26-28, 2024 at the KLD Building 1.
The program started with the opening remarks by Assoc. Prof. Luchel Z. Gloriani, Dean of IOM. This was followed by a welcome message from the College President, Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias.
The institute prepared activities for all Midwifery students such as Midwifery Got Talent, artwork gallery, and film showing on Day 1. On the next day, Dir. Ma. Teresa C. Padilla was invited as a keynote speaker.
Another highlights were informative talks regarding responsible parenthood and family planning awareness as well as adolescent life skills and reproductive health education which were discussed by Ms. Alona R. Navarro and Dean Gloriani, respectively.
